International Gas Detectors (IGD) is excited to announce the expansion of our gas detection presence in Türkiye through our partnership with EMBAS, our new distributor for the region.
Based in Istanbul, Turkish gas detection firm EMBAS specialises in the design, installation and maintenance of gas detection systems across a range of industrial applications. This partnership gives organisations across the country local access to IGD equipment, backed by EMBAS’s knowledge of the Turkish market and direct technical support from the IGD team.
The partnership is already well underway, with EMBAS supplying multiple IGD systems to facilities across Türkiye, from standalone solutions utilising the TOC-903-X5 multi-gas detector-transmitter, to larger Sentinel+ addressable systems.

Bringing IGD Gas Detection Systems to TürkiyeSnapshot
EMBAS originally approached IGD in search of a standalone gas detector to meet a specific customer requirement, but discussions between our teams highlighted opportunities to work together across a much broader range of applications.
The flexibility of the IGD range was an important part of that. Alongside standalone detection using the TOC-903-X5, EMBAS sought to provide complete Sentinel+ addressable gas detection systems for larger sites and more complex requirements.
As a result, the two companies are now working across applications including food and beverage production, pharmaceuticals, laboratories, chemical and process facilities and fuel distribution. For EMBAS, the partnership provides access to a broad range of advanced digital gas detection technology and the engineering support needed to adapt systems around individual applications.
Early Success for IGD and EMBAS
This partnership quickly began to deliver encouraging results, having rapidly moved from initial discussions to project proposals, to project completions. One of the first involved a fuel distribution centre, where EMBAS supplied TOC-903-X5 fixed multi-gas detector-transmitters to meet the site’s monitoring requirements. This installation utilised the X5’s standalone controller functionality to provide the facility with Sentinel+ comms without the need for a dedicated control panel. You can read a little more about what separates the X5 from the competition here.
This was quickly followed by a project on a very different application involving flammable gas monitoring around a high-temperature industrial oven. The operating conditions made direct detection difficult, so IGD worked with EMBAS to develop a solution using a combination of our EMS sampler, TOCSIN 903-X5 and cooling coils. Our EMS Samplers can be attached to any of our ATEX-rated detectors to provide an effective and reliable gas sampling solution.
This system design allows the gas sample to be cooled before reaching the detector, providing a practical solution for monitoring LEL flammable gases within the high-temperature, ATEX-rated application.
EMBAS has since begun work on additional projects in the region, including both standalone detectors and Sentinel+ addressable system solutions, and these early projects demonstrate exactly why this partnership has already proven to be so successful. It’s the combination of EMBAS’s understanding of local applications and IGD’s gas detection technology and engineering support that will continue to transform site safety in the region.

EMBAS on Working with IGD
Emre Ateş, Services and Operations Manager at EMBAS, said the technical and engineering support offered by IGD had been a crucial factor in establishing and building on the relationship.
“ What stands out for us is not only the quality and reliability of the products, but also the level of technical support and the accessibility of the IGD team. They are very responsive, flexible and open to discussing different customer requirements, which is extremely valuable in the Turkish market.”
EMBAS was initially drawn to the simplicity and flexibility of IGD’s systems and the opportunity to bring a different approach to gas detection in Türkiye.
“As we got to know the IGD team and the technology better, we realised that there was a very good fit between IGD’s vision and our own approach to the market.”
Emre also highlighted the connection between IGD’s approach and EMBAS’s own “One Step Ahead” philosophy, with both companies focused on finding practical and efficient solutions to different gas detection requirements.
Managing Director Balkan Asdemir had high praise for our ability to take a project from conception to completion.
“Working with IGD has been a very positive and rewarding experience for us. From the beginning, we have seen IGD not simply as a supplier, but as a reliable and supportive business partner. Their strong technical expertise, innovative approach and responsiveness have given us confidence in representing the brand in the Turkish market.”
Future Prospects
With the first projects already completed, IGD and EMBAS will continue working together to expand access to IGD gas detection systems across Türkiye and support new applications as the partnership develops. We look forward to welcoming the EMBAS team to IGD’s UK headquarters later this year for further product training and technical collaboration.
We rely on our global network of distributors and partners to achieve our goal of delivering advanced, digital gas detection solutions wherever they are needed. The larger that network grows, the more people we can help protect, and with EMBAS now in our corner, we’re delighted to be able to make good on that promise throughout Türkiye.
