Most people visiting the National Theatre will have their minds on the performance unfolding on stage. So understandably, they’re probably not thinking about the performance of the gas detection system operating beneath their feet in the underground car park below.
But for busy enclosed parking environments, reliable gas detection is essential. Almost a decade after IGD first installed the site’s original system, the National Theatre invited us back to complete a full upgrade using our SafePark solution.
Designed specifically for enclosed car parks, SafePark combines intelligent gas monitoring with automated ventilation control to help maintain safe air quality while reducing unnecessary energy consumption. The system was split across two zones and connected using IGD’s exclusive Sentinel+™ 2-Wire Addressable technology. By carrying both power and communications through a single polarity-independent 2-core cable, Sentinel+ helps simplify installation, reduce cabling requirements and make future upgrades far easier.
